Licensing & attribution

WordPilot Vault is built on open lexical data. Definitions, example sentences, etymologies and pronunciations are adapted from English Wiktionary, which is published under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 license.

Every entry page links back to its source article, and our adapted text is offered under the same CC BY-SA 4.0 terms. You are free to reuse it, including commercially, as long as you credit the source and license your version the same way.

What we do not use

  • No text copied from proprietary dictionaries or paid lexical APIs.
  • No scraping of commercial dictionary websites.
  • No third-party lookups at runtime — every entry is served from our own database.
